EltaMD Moisture Seal is a two-ingredient occlusive balm: petrolatum and paraffin, and nothing else. It melts on contact, spreads into a thin protective layer and holds moisture in for up to 24 hours. There is no water in it, which is why it needs no preservatives at all. Use it on dry, flaky, intact skin after a cosmetic treatment.

Two ingredients is the whole point. Skin that has just been through a treatment reacts to things, and a formula with nothing in it to react to is the safest kind of barrier you can put on. No water means no preservative system, no fragrance, no dyes and nothing that needs stabilising.

It is concentrated, so a pea-size amount covers the face. Apply a thin coat, give it two minutes, then pat off whatever has not settled in. Piling it on does not work faster and it will sit greasy.

How to Use
